According to Peter Siddle, nothing will top the call of the baggy green and it is a nice thought, but we'll see:

Yeah...sadly, I reckon in some time more players will be going the Flintoff way than the Ponting way. I was real proud of Punter when he decided to quit T20 for tests and ODIs but he is a veteran. Nowadays there are so many younger players playing in the IPL even before they get an Aussie cap...and with the money they are earning I wonder how many of them will stay committed to playing for the country if it comes down to making a decision on that...
Yep, I think this is the beginning of some big changes for cricket. Aussies like to think there is some mythology surrounding the baggy green, but I am not convinced there won't be plenty of young players - even in Australia - who will take the big money over playing for their country.
