I think the bright green looks okay. The only thing that i think you might want to change is the Post Title color? at the moment it seems like the "Date" color(on top of the Post title) is the same as the Post title color itself. Both seem white-ish to me. So if you scroll down your page, you'll see that you are not able to tell the difference between the posts. They all seem like one big post, to me, atleast. So maybe change the Post Title to a BOLD BLACK might be good? It would stand out a bit. Leave the color of the "DATE" as it is. "Stuff I rant about" has bright green text on bright green background. maybe try changing text to black as well. so it is easily readable. Bright colored backgrounds are usually tricky, so you just might want to play around with text color and stuff to get it just right. I liked your "where the blog are you" pic. looks great. If you notice the background color on the parrot pic or whatever it is...is a little darker green and the yellow on the parrot's head really stands out. maybe try putting in some yellow color text or yellow post title color might work too? Green and yellow or goldish yellow might work? Its really trail and error.

I found a great photo taken by a photographer and I ask for his permission to use it on the header. he said yes, but when I put it up it just didn't look right. I think I prefer th display of camaraderie that's there now anyway.

Just make sure all the other colours also match with it.....and the text is just as clear as black is on white......

On the Hauritz thing, I am quite a fan. I think it comes from being a West Aussies - I'm so used to losing, I naturally root for the underdog.
Maybe I have gone overboard, I will try to mix them up a little. The one on the main header just seems to for perfectly, so that's staying.
