I'm not really sure what the point of this is, but I'm sure I would be more interested if I was a Victorian or a New South Welsh man (??) - person (??) A fine display of political correctness gone mad - Psych Babbler, help!!
Since Cricket Australia favour NSW and Vic players in the Aussie side, a lot of the boys we've been watching over the summer will be back in action very soon. The NSW players (Simon Katich, Nathan Hauritz, Brett Lee, Michael Clarke and Brad Haddin - and possibly others I've missed) play their first match on Friday 9th against the Eagles, who I believe are South African.
Nathan Bracken is also in the NSW side, but he needs some surgery, so I'm guessing he won't be playing. I also don't know if Michael Clarke is over his sore back, yet, but I'm sure some disprin will sort that out.
If you care, here is a list of the teams involved:
I'd be more interested if the Warriors were there
Still no news on the teams for the trip to India, though the list can't be far away surely?? I suspect it won't be much different to the team who were just in South Africa, but we'll see.
In the meantime, Mitchy is back in Perth for 12 days before heading off to India (presumably). James Hopes, I know, has been called upon to play for QLD for their first Sheffield Shield match against the West Aussies in Perth (on the 13th October) - I wonder if Mitchy will be playing as well?

hey Sids...you and Ritz eh, you as bad as my lady is with Mitch!
Hads, Bracks and Pup will not be taking part in the Champions League for NSW.
Last time I checked Hads was ruled out, and I doubt Pup would be participating as with the likely possibility Punter will not play in India, Pup may be aiming to be ready for the India series end of the month. Another 7 match series, yay (sarcasm).
As for Mitch, unlikely he will play for the Warriors. As far as I know, despite his transfer from the Bulls, he is yet to play for WA. Unlikely after all the cricket he has played in recent months.
Sid, you think Hauritz will be able to do anything in India? And who will be there second spinner without Clarke?
Do they have a second spinner? Most people think they are struggling for a first :-)
Ian, why won't Punter be in India? I hadn't heard that!
Mitch has hardly seen Perth at all since he moved there, let alone actually play for his state side. Oh well, we can live in hope.
Purna - do you like my new countdown to the first Ashes test? I'm not bitter ...
Don't worry about being politically correct! ;) It's nice when people are not...we can take it too damn far.
Oh, and I must say this is the first I'm hearing about this series. Goes to show: I don't give a flying f*** about T20.
That countdown timer is cool. How'd you get that rigged up?
It hasn't been stated Punter won't play in India. Just my view.
It's a long summer ahead and a while ago there was alot of talk about the player rotation system taking effect with away series' or matches prior to lengthy summer fixtures. Like Punter at the start of the England ODI series. Whenever Punter talks about the upcoming series against India he has spoken of the team as 'they', 'them', not 'we', so just a possibility with the rotation system. Then again he isn't in this Champions League deal so plenty rest ahead for him. Then again if guys like Pup and the other mentioned blokes can't make it, I guess he'd have to play. I'm honestly not overly enthusiastic about this upcoming One Day series, but it'd be epic to beat India again in India.
Haha, just saw the tags on the screen, 'Andrew Strauss is a wanker', 'Graeme Swann is a wanker', 'kicking England's butt's'! You got a calendar next to your bed to count down to the next Ashes and a dartboard with those blokes faces on?!
Yes I do Sid. You are a true Aussie! HAHA!
@Ian - Punter made a comment on his facebook page that implied he would be going to India, but it won't let me log in so I can't quote it here. I'll find it and have a better look when I can.
Anyway, I'd been wanting to put that timer up for a while, but it was when Purna told me I had to get over losing the Ashes that I really decided. Then I just had to wait for the dates to be announced. A friend gave the website to set it up - looks good, huh?
@Purna - you said I need to get over the Ashes: that timer is my way of saying "that so ain't gonna happen" :-)
If I got any of the dates wrong in this post, btw (and I think I might have), I would like to point out that my temperature was through the roof when I wrote it - I was nearly delirious. It was about that time I wrote some comments on a photo of Brett Lee on Purna's blog - I'm glad you liked them. I should write when I sick more often!
Nah the Ashes dates are on the CA site, which James Sutherland spoke of too. It can be subject to change, but unlikely so that should be right.
I think the timer is really cool. Some early hype.
