Chris Gayle has had to head home to Jamaica, because his mother is ill, and may miss the first test against Australia.
This will leave the side pretty short on experience, which is fine because we are short on health and bowlers.
So, we just need to injure one or two of the West Indian players and the score is pretty even. Get out your baseball bat, Hopesy, and make yourself useful while you're recouperating there in Brisbane.
Test team announced at 1pm tomorrow (Sydney time). I'll let you know.

oh come on sid, that was really harsh! Lets hope Gayle's mother has a speedy recovery.
I'm not sure why Aussies are freaking out so much. I doubt WI will be any competition even with their full strength team. They have barely played any cricket for a while and that will definitely count against them.
I just saw the injury count, and it is up to 28 men now. I think someone needs to get fired over this. I don't know who but someone has to go :)
The Aussies boys are injured because of lack of mommy love. They need more. Tell Hilditch to send them with the boys on tour!

Of course I wish his mother a speedy recovery. I'm not a big fan of Gayle, but a west indies without him just wouldn't be the same so let's hope he makes it back ok.
And someone needs to get fired ... please, please can it be Hilditch?
