Pink wigs and Mussey bowling

Australia have had a couple of good cricketing months. 6-1 arse-kicking 2009; winning the Champion's Trophy when even I didn't think they would; and the Ashes, while being a loss (sob) wasn't a complete washout.

But let's now be brutally honest - we have lost the current series against India. The injuries are too many and the skills too few. It's over, people. The only question left to be answered is not "who will win this series?" but "will India or South Africa be #1 in the ODI rankings when it's over?"

And yet, we have to play it out so I say let's have a little fun with it. (The selectors obviously are, or else we wouldn't have "Clint" on his way over from Melbourne right now.) Here's what I think we should do with the next match:

  • Leave Ponting out - he's surely near the top of the queue for injuries, right?
  • Let Whinging Mitchy have a go at opening
  • Let him open with Nathan Hauritz
  • with Sids at #3
  • Let's have Mussey do a bit of bowling, at worst he'll let a shedload of runs through. At best, he'll injure one or two of the Indian batsmen
  • I'd like to see sledging taken to a new level, with pink wigs (and maybe false tashes?) brought in to the attack
  • Go all the way and bring on over Andrew "unsightly ginger" MacDonald and make him our keeper. Maybe he, too, will break his finger and then we'll get a giggle and;
  • for the biggest laugh of all, let's have Shane Watson bowl ...
... no wait, we already do that ...
bugger.

Lol...you really don't like Watson eh? Thought I was the only one that thought he was over-rated.

And while you are being brutally honest, I'm going to pray that South Africa are first in the rankings...

Have Oz started to beat themselves? :( Runouts galore and Mitch thinks he's at Lord's. Which leads me to the conclusion that there is indeed a chance that we will see Watto today. No matter how much you dread it.
And we could have as well Hilfe bowl. Odds he stays under 12 runs/over aren't that bad.
And can someone explain me why they replaced Voges with a guy who is equally useless? I am sure they will call up David Warner for the last match *grrr*
Happy, though, that Cams was able to score a bit.
@Psych, I always thought Watto was the only guy who knew that he was overrated :p Well no, he has matured a big deal, at least with the bat.

Nathan Messiah Hauritz is Father, Son and Holy Ghost in one.

And Douggie Bollinger is Mother Mary.

PS. Watto *lol*

Watto you sexy beast you are so hot hot hot I can hardly breathe *lol*

Good instinct by Punts, he must have known that another couple of Watto's surprisemyself-wickets were overdue. This is good captaincy isn't it. Awesome final catch by the The Pantheon.
My little Redback has also dug himself well into the game, I am utterly pleased with today's effort (we shall pull the veil of silence over Mitch *cough*).

I think a ghost posseses Watto sometimes. Those are the times he bowls and bats well.

I just got in from work and I am stunned - I can't believe it! I can't belive it!

Will write more later when I've had a chance to peruse reports and pictures ...

Warner won't play and unlikely that there will be any more players shipped over to India with the summer series' approaching and the Domestic games in full swing.
Have to make do with what we have going for us now I reckon.

Purna...Watto works in mysterious ways.

Ian, if by mysterious you mean clueless, I agree.
