I told you I shouldn't watch test matches

Bowled.

2nd ball.

Bless ya Watto - next time, it's yours.

I had a feeling this would happen this morn. Sixth sense?

It just sucked; I immediately wrote this and then went to bed. And things didn't improve from there, although there were some half decent attempts by Hads and the Muss.

Bugger.

My Lord and Big Dougie need to get out there tomorrow and kick some butt if we're going to get anything out of this one.

Well done to the West Indies, though. Everyone had written them off and they did alright. Game on.

No, the muss made it look like batting was the hardest thing going. Which is what he does now. They need to drop him to 6 if they must keep him. It doesn't matter if the tail get freaked out by the pitch and the bowlers from watching him bat, but Clarke and North don't need that.

I am afraid that I laughed when I turned onto radio to find out that Twatto got out second ball of the day.

psychbabbler, i think lot of people thought it would happen. It's Watson, isn't it?

Lou, you big meanie. I have always defended Watson as a batsman (while poking fun at his bowling of course) and wanted to be justified in that.

I remain firm that he will continue to improve, given the chance.

You are right about the Muss, though. He needs to step back. I think once Ferguson is fit again, Mussey might just lose his spot.

Damn it...i was just thinking yesterday how it would be if Watto gets out for the same score...and today thats what precisely happened...

It's just too much, Baiju. At least he got his highest ever test score, but if he is really going to be an opener he needs to start hitting 3 figures.

He will, I can just feel it. He will.

I need to disagree here. My knowledge about cricket is limited but according to what I have seen so far, openers are more prone to getting out quickly, because the match has just started, the bowlers are bursting with energy and the rhythm of the game hasn't been found yet. Katich and Watson are a very good pair here. Pressuring Watson for a century will not help him to find his feet. He and Kato provided an excellent start. It were the guys who came in after them, who forked things up. If all specialist batsmen had scored between 80 and 96 things would look much better. There are others who need to go in the corner and think about themselves.

PS. Sid you were watching Oz and Shane went out for 96... while I was watching NZ and Taylor, their only batsman, went out for 97. Coincidence? I don't believe so. Maybe it is really us old witches.
