Watto, Watto, Watto ...

The man has been under a lot of pressure: the fans aren't fond of him and he knows Phil Hughes is just waiting for him to fail. I admit I have made fun of Watto's bowling, but I have always felt he was a decent batsman who just needs a bit more time and support. People don't see him as a natural opener, but then the same was once said about Katich and look at him now.

As you probably guessed from my last post, I sat up last night just to watch Watson get his first ever test century.

And then this happened:

And then we saw this:

He seemed to start moving into slow motion; I wondered if he was crying.

I don't admitting that tears were running down my cheeks.

I'm an emotional girl.

I feel sorry for him. He was the only one of the Aussie batters coming even close to a hundred, but he's getting the most shit flung at him. People really need to set their focus straight. If I had the choice I would rather prefer a batsman who scores 90 in every innings instead of one who has 5 centuries and an average of 25. What's the difference, 96 or 100, it's about the same contribution to the team effort. Milestones suck, they put the batters under unnecessary pressure. The more so as Watson was obviously the best batsman of the innings. I would rather have a closer look at Muss (unfortunately) and why the heck did Lord North go out for 16? It is good having Pup back, 71 isn't the worst score of the day.
Shane has a huge problem with milestones first of all, and the second issue is that his excitement overrides his concentration in the beginning of a match day.
And yes Sid, he will get his bloody maiden hundred, but probably only if it's within a match day :P
Nah, Chappell is right. I think Watson deserves to be in this spot. Also, there's gonna be a second innings.

Sid don't cry! I feel guilty for laughing at him now!

P.s: Wes are you really German? Can you tell Michael Ballack that I love him?

Ha, I only pretend it, because everybody loves the Germans :D

Joke aside, I think Sid is closer to him because he's playing in England (Chelsea). But yeah he is from the same federal state as me. He even has the same horrid accent. Cool isn't it. But it doesn't mean as much to us as to the Aussies for instance, we usually don't care what clubs or states our national players are from.

Going to watch the match highlights now... Kleenex box is within reach.

I couldn't help it, Purna. I had sat up; watching such crap TV just to see it and then ... bang, it was over. The tears just came, I was so sad for him.

And don't feel bad, I've done my fair share of taking the piss out of him.
