Conspiracy on Twitter! aka The Harper files

To anyone who was listening to Test Match Sofa commentary yesterday on the England v South Africa match and heard the response to my "tweet" - I did not defend Daryl Harper but merely commented at the absence of such a facebook campaign against Rudi during the Ashes series last summer.

It's true that Koertzen didn't have the benefit if the review system, but he was still shit.

I do think Harper cocked up in a big way.

If you haven't done so already, check out The Skiver's interview with the villain himself at Cricket with Balls.

Having said that, of course, how can you not like this: Page 2?

Well done Saffas on the win!

It was gratifying to see Strauss mention the review stuff in his post-match interview. He couldn't help himself and he's just proving that captains aren't anymore dignified than sports fans.

Morne and Steyn were brilliant at times in this series. It made such a difference once Dale Steyn was match fit to the Saffer team and the entire series. Suddenly Swann wasn't the centre of attention. Instead it was the top bowler in the world coming to the party big time.

It has been really brought home to me how in Australia we just don't have a truly excellent bowler. MJ isn't in Asif or Steyn's class.

We are going to have to do as well as we can with our workers.

I think you're right, Lou. The best we have I still think is Brett Lee, but he is basically gone so then what? I hope in time Hilfy or Bolly will become a truly excellent bowler, but in the meantime I think our lack of one only makes winning matches even better.

Of course, we're only winning tests against W.I. and the Stanis. No offence to them, but it will the next test series against India or South Africa that will tell on us.

We have to wait for one of the U19's to come good. John Buchanan's kid or McDermott's ginger kid or even Mitchell Marsh who has completely lost his batting form in that tournament. But that's a long wait and there isn't anyone lighting any fires in the Pura Cup that I have noticed.
