Goddam that was close ... but thanks largely to White's 105, the deed was done and the Aussies came out on top.
White: A classic batsman or a middle order thug?
So when do we get to see White in whites, do you think?
Now, if I'm leaving off the Bloody Vics for a little while that's fine (is a day enough?), but please don't make me stop making fun of Shane Warne ... it's so much fun ...

Liked the Whitewash, thoroughly. Sehwags and Dilshans have already ruined Test cricket. Throw White in.
where do u think Pak lost it?
Whitey just did us the hard way :P , those blows to Afridi were just priceless helplessly flat sixes a well spiced reply to Afridi's cameo :P
Looking forward for another cracker in Sydney
@Mock for that matter I guess, rotating strike while batting specially in middle overs, they could have easily managed 25 - 35 more runs. Putting pressure in fielding specially when one of their bowler is having a hell of a spell why don't put some fielders under batsman nose specially Punter. Last but not least fielding guys for God sake fielding what the hell has happened to catches?
The timing in Cam White's innings was crucial the way he blasted Afridi. That did have a significant impact in terms of runs per over required. But Pakistan relied heavily on that innings of his. Besides that innings which could have potentially been match winning for Pakistan, the batting was ordinary.
Pakistan's fielding is still letting them down a fair bit, even in the field they were rather switched off, low in ambition almost.
The partnerships between Cam and Pup and then Cam and Huss defined todays match..you hold the fort and take chances when the opposition is switched off players of this level can easily throw pressure back onto the team in the dominant position.
A good start to the series! Quite a game.
Good on ya Bear!
Brilliant working class batting from White and Clarke.
Hey,
Amazing Vic... eh? (a bad pun really - Vic as in Victorian or victory)
You are probably wondering where I've disappeared . I'm really busy with my commitments for Royal Challenger's Bangalore (RCB) and the Indian Premier League (IPL) that I can't find time to read your articles. I'm really sorry but I'll catch up once it's over. Really sorry mate.
Just wanted you to know. :D
Cheers;
Christopher Posh David
P.S. Kick those Pakistani asses....
Pakistani asses....
Is this a pun as well?
Wasn't that one of the Sky commentators that called him a middle order thug? Charles Colville I think.
He's just envious that the English team doesn't 'do' short format thugs of any description.
Besides, White played fairly sensibly and knocked it around for singles a lot of the time in a most unthuggish manner. It's just that he can give it some real humpty when needed.
@Lou - he said it just as I was writing this so I nicked it. Thought it was apt. I vote for classic batsman myself, even if he is a Vic.
White's going to have to do more than that to get me to forgive him; I've seen the crowd at the WACA giving him stick in state games and he was not especially gracious. He was even less so when the BV's won the match.
I was also about to add that we don't have to be nice to them for too long as they won the Big Bash, but I see you've pointed that out already.
