What the hell happened in Sydney?

All out for 127.

I have nothing more to say, I am too busy sulking.

Yep...it was a nightmare and I was watching it unfold. Couldn't believe how they played like idiots. Yes, Pakistan bowled really well but we played some horrendous shots as well! Sigh.

Oh come on. How often have they collapsed in the past year? Aren't you guys used to it yet?

Punter should have a really good look at himself. That shot was embarrassing and Haddin wasn't much better.

Clarke got a very good ball but he leaves lovely gaps between bat and pad so frequently that he is asking for it. But still, lovely bowling from the ambly one.

Watto got a ripper, he is forgiven. I am a West Australian and don't like it, but I am afraid Asif has just ruined North's career unless he pulls a massive match-saving knock in the second innings.

We only got to the 100 as MJ and Haury are not completely without shame.

BUT Asif is a smoking bowler. He must have laughed out loud when he realised that Punter decided to bat on that wicket in those conditions. Still, don't understand it myself.

Bloody hell, even Sami got wickets, you lot must have batted crap.

Anyway, it'll be sunny tomorrow, the ball won't move around at all and Nielson and Punter can yet again shake their heads over the inexperience of the bowling attack that doesn't win us enough matches.

I can see it all.

Flashes of Edgbaston '05, eh?

BTW, could you possibly add my Wordpress blog to your blogroll? I’ve already added you! Thanks a heap in advance!

Easy. Punter is world's best batsman. Thus Punter bats first. Punter doesn't give a fuck about the pitch. As usual. Or do I have to remind you of a certain test match at the end of a certain series where a certain player wasn't playing :/

It was a classical Punter brain implosion "Yeah English lawn who cares, we will survive the first couple of hours, because, you know, Phil Hughesless is opening now whoohooo, and then we will show them!"

Bolly and Mitch probably freaked out but Punter was a gonkey (son of a goat and a donkey) in a previous life so yeah. Sucks to be Bolly and Mitch.

Also... the Paksies bowled like the bowling gods and fully deserved every single wicket they took. That was a performance to savour. It could have been ours! Grahh.

Mitch and Ritz. One must honestly say Oz owe them so much, Punter should feed them grapes from silver platters.

But instead of showing some intent to win this, he did NOT throw Mitch in for the last few overs because, Mitch is not an opener! Thus, Mitch is not an opener, q.e.d.
Also, it would have been too confusing for Oz if he had taken two wickets at the end of the day. Feelings get confused. Not good.

Apart from that, see Lou's second post :////

I just heard Punter's post toss/pre match interview in which he said (in the same sentence mind) 'the wicket having so much grass and the overhead conditions are conducive for bowling but we are batting.'

Then he said, 'Pakistan would have bowled if they won the toss.'

Fuck me.

He sounded so sure of himself. He sounded insane.

If 2005 ghosts were haunting Pointing for such a nasty decision SCG 2010 will haunt him forever when he will see something greener then usual and probably your blog too which is pretty green :P

Was he overconfident about his batting lineup or underestimated Pakistani attack or just he thought, oh its SCG what the hell could have happened.

When you have the reins in the hands of a punter, this accident was waiting to happen. Poor rascal.

The boys bowled pretty well first session and beat the bat regularly but when things aren't going your way...

The Pakistan team played so sensibly till the tea break, like they cared about their wickets. Very impressive.

Yep, all credit to the Stanis - we can't just say Australia are playing crap, some credit has to go to the other side for playing well also.

We don't have anyone with the guile and control of Asif either. A really wonderful bowler.

@Offcutter - sorted.

@Everyone else, sorry I've been a bit absent on the commentary; I have had to go against all my beliefs and actually work at work, due to having time off over christmas and the new year.

I'll get back to skiving again soon.
