Punter ignores himself and cheeky Vettori tries it on.

After the loss in the first ODI, Punter put out a call to arms telling his batsmen (himself included) to get their shit together. It seems they all answered the call, except Punter himself. And Pup. Hads, Cammie and the Muss all got over 50; Twatto got 47 (just under a milestone - now, that's not like our Twatto, is it?) and Jimmeh did all right again, this time making 29 before being run out.

Having said that, if we learned anything from the first ODI it's that we will probably need to be getting 290+ to keep the Kiwis at bay, so there was every chance 273 was not going to be enough.

It was, but Styris and Vettori did put up a bit of a fight. My Lord took out Fatty Styris for 46 but Danny - who is still the only Kiwi I will ever like, although that's wavering - totally took the piss with his 70. Bastard. Ry the Not Jimmeh went up (slightly) in my estimation by bowling him.

I think I'm so good, surely I can fly ...

I'm still not convinced Ry isn't completely over rated and what the hell is up with Mitchy? Is it just me, or is he being consistently good suddenly? It's very upsetting - I might have to start being nice to him and you all know how much I would hate that.

Punter just wasn't switched on at all. He does that a lot when he is first in now in both formats. Comes out and plays an incredibly dumb shot and we all hope he gets away with it.

MJ has been okish since he stopped playing test cricket against the Windies. He just needs to get a bit of batting form going. But even that was neat in the last match.

When I saw that photo of Ry, I thought they must have wheeled a hoist out to get him up that high. He can't have done it on his own. Ian has the right to say 'i told you so' to me. I'll take it. He was the only one who tried bowling a lot of yorkers at the death.

When MJ tried one he got a wicket but then you can't expect him to do it often, he likes short stuff and he's not that bright.

Vettori is a dandy, you can't help but like him, even if he has his sly ways about him.

After a summer of wins in Australia even you and other diehard Aussie fans would agree that this series is got for them.It will act as a test for tougher challenged ahead!

I felt sorry for Dan..he was literally doing it single handedly.
and Ryan sure is getting better and better ..test cap anyone?

And MJ needs some egging on for him to do well..may be the booing and the constant name calling inspired him !

Looking forward to the Interblogactic IPL Battle!

I too missed out on DC and had to settle with RR

Doesn't seem right at all. Then again, he was born in NSW!

Sid Sid Sid! I am utterly delighted to see that you have finally jumped on the anti-Harris bandwagon. I worked so hard, but my hope to make you see the light fainted more with each day. Please Sid, pick up your welcome choc box from the counter over there but know that the club is already in the process of disbanding because Bigfoot keeps delivering consistently and under aches and pains even I had to admit that he should have deathbowled in the T20, which of course does NOT mean that his apeness has decreased at any point! So yes I am already packing my bags again but now that you are here let's spend some more time in these sacred halls together B) Please enjoy your stay, I will try to make it as comfy as possibly for you ^^

Apart from that I think McCullum's premature death was a bit of a shock to the Kiwis.

Sid, I feel that the Ry person has been backing his big bum towards the test team ever since he backed it into the ODI team. I have a feeling Punter just loves him and you know what that means...

And he does keep taking wickets.

Wes, Brendan is one of the few Kiwis I am not keen on so watching him swish his way to doom against Mitch was very satisfying. Even better was seeing Mitch respond so surprisingly well with the ball to having the crowd on his case like a pack of wolves.

Erm ... I'm not *that* new ... doesn't the nickname "Ry the Not Jimmeh", which he has had since his first match this last summer, give it away?
