Well, they left the run getting too late and the bowlers were a bit out of sorts. Sometimes it just doesn't go your way, but don't go comparing the respective no 3's in the teams.
Lou, you're right. Just didn't go our way. I think nerves got some of our players, even Clarke looked really edgy. That run that got Warner out was, I suspect, a combination of frustration and nerves. I think he has had a lot of criticism and was feeling the pressure. I think over all, as captain, he did all right.
Number threes ... where to put Clarke is the big question, now, isn't it? Do we really want to move him down when the guys currently at 5 and 6 are doing so well? But is he a number 3, really? hhhmmmm ...
Stani and Beggy, I knew the women were on but to be honest I had had enough of cricket and didn't think I could cope with watching more. Glad they won, though.
And I still would have like to bowl first. I know we didn't win the toss and Clarke had said that he would have batted first if he had won. I think he would have been wrong.
He got his position right in the first game. I think his plan was to come after MJ.
Having Mike Hussey in supersonic form face 10 deliveries was a slight 'miscalculation'.
Running out Warner made him look frightened.
Bowling our biggest pie-chucker for 3 overs while giving no overs to the Dusseyman (considering their respective tournament stats up to that point) is just plain mysterious.
So no, I don't think that in this match his captaincy was at all ok.
But the plus is that he can only get better.
Overall I think his captaincy has been good in this series but he looked out of his depth from the moment he came to the crease yesterday in the wrong position.
Has anyone got a link to photo/video of that wicket? Haven't been able to find pics of it, not that I've searched desperately, but it sounded hilarious on the commentary...

I have to go to work tomorrow. Lots of English people there. Bugger indeed.

It gets a little embarrassing.
At least your Sheilas won the women's final Sid! Didn't you watch it?
Last time you posted the question:
"if we bat first will our batsmen cope?"
We have our answer.
Well done to the chicks.
Adrian, I live in the UK. Nuff said.

Biggest plus for the tournament and the future?
The Legsmith. (thanks wes for the name)
Looks pretty much fearless and his bowling was far more effective than I would have dreamed.
Sorry Sid! I was rooting for you guys. I drove through 2 hrs of nasty traffic and road work to see England bat, needless to say I was pissed!
Kieswetter rolling over to Mitchy made my day though!
I think that was the wierdest wicket I've ever seen! He just stood back and watch it rip through the stumps. Bizarre.
