The Cammie and Dirky show hits town

And it was pretty scary for a while there, but this time we were saved by Bloody Vic with some support from The Muss. I thought this was going to be a really tough match, considering the form the Sri Lankans are in. Plus their bowling is pretty sweet.

Those bowlers didn't disappoint the Sri Lankan supporters, but I was tearing my hair out. That probably isn't fair, since the Aussie run rate was always relatively decent, but you know I freak out easily. Clarke had himself at number 4 this time, which I still think is a bit high, but at least he got to double figures.

So, despite a scary start, Cammie and the Muss took us to 168 in the 20 overs and from there I was not too concerned. Our bowlers are definitely capable of defending that and Dirky was superb as ever. He took 2 - 19 and there was a direct hit which was just so good I can't quite describe it. And then that Cammie catch ... wow! The Sky commentators described White as "brutal", an adjective I struggle to disagree with.

Mitchy was also on form, with only a couple of pies (he lent those to Watto) and took 3 - 15. As ever, the opposing batsmen just could not cope with the Aussie pace attack and we took them out for 87. Almost sad for a side like Sri Lanka to be beaten like that.

Almost.
Just stretching out my wings ...

So, it's the West Indies next. They managed to wipe the floor with India - but, who didn't? eh? eh? We can beat the West Indies but even if we don't, I think we should be through to the semis.

And who will me meet? I have a wee suspicion it will be England ...

Indulgence. Ahhh. *sighs blissfully*

Australia must beat the Windies, and India must whip Sri Lanka. Despite our terrible form, that's all it would take for us to go through!

I know Wes, I'm getting all arrogant and Aussie again aren't I? I just can't help it, because beating India is always bliss.

Rish, we will beat the West Indies I'm sure not convinced India will take the Sri Lankans but you never know.

Gayle the Whayle will eat your bowlers alive, but you will still make the semis methinks.

If we lose, and India win, both IND and SRI will be out (Windies and AUS two wins each, IND and SRI one each)! But if SRI win, we might shoot ourselves in the knee with that tactic. But if we win three times, any of the others could make it depending on the SRI-IND match. *arghhhh*
So the best would be we lose and India win! So then we could progress with the Windies (who, as they are such fantastic hosts, deserve a spot in the semis).
This is a good plan imo. We must talk to SRI about it.

Don't write the retards off just yet Sid. We may be plotting revenge via our favourite route of entry, the back door. But first, catching practice...

I hope we face England. I would love to wipe em through the mud and give them another send out like we did in the ODI's, The Champions Trophy.
But yeah, South Africa B are playing very good cricket courtesy of Eoin Morgan.

India are as good as done, like MS Dhoni said, to many weighing factors to rely on out of their control. They have been outdone on the day, which is exactly what he said.

Our NRR is high enough that we won't be knocked out under a heavy loss of sorts but we'll beat the Windies. I can't wait to get stuck into the challenge in knocking their big players overboard. If the Windies fielding is also at their usual standard that'll help too.

Kemar Roach vs Watto...watch out for that battle!

And I don't mean that in arrogance or over-confidence, just like to maintain the belief the boys can beat the Windies and go to the semi's for the 1st time 2007, unbeaten this time.

My gut feeling is the Windies may get ahead of themselves...home crowd, hype, expectation etc.

I think we'll be meeting England in the final, and it will be tough. But we can win.

And I am saying that with arrogance and probably over confidence, too.

Arrogant and over-confident Aussies? I've never come across one in my life ;)

Well, there's only a few million of us. We're easily missed.
