OK, so it seems that jokes about the Pakistan tour of England being a circus and the potential for anyone to rig the final match and make money wasn't for everyone. Or anyone, in fact.
Never mind.
Here's the thing - I have finally come up with a cricket-y name for the blog and am thinking of a move to wordpress. Also, as mich as I love that picture of Michael Clarke up there I really don't have permission to use it. So, I am going to change it to one of Brett Lee's arse taken by a friend who won't make me pay her (not until I'm rich and famous anyway).
The big thing is the wordpress thing - would you all avoid me if I moved? Would it make it harder to comment?
Tell me, tell me.
cheers ...

Sid, it's actually easier to comment on Wordpress and, since most of us use Wordpress anyway we're always logged in. I think it is possible to do an import of your blogger archives into WP - ask one of the techie types for assistance (Ankit is really good at that stuff). I love the WP platform so I say go for it :)
WordPress is great if you ask me go ahead if you feel comfortable.
Coincidence, I just wanted to ask you about wordpress after I saw your coffee blog.
I'm thinking of moving there too because I've felt Wordpress seems to provide better features. Since you're using both Blogger and Wordpress, I'd ask you what you think to be better.
And I'd miss the Clarke pic. You can get a header designed though.
I'm happy as long as commenting is easy! And happy if I can post twice a week. For Blogspot, well, you have not lost me yet.
All because you dont have to pay for that pic of Lee's arse, doesnt mean you gotta make us pay by looking at it.
+ Less spam.
+ Wont be harder to comment
+ Still wont be able to get rid of me
P.S, Can you tell me the name of the new blog so I can go claim it at wordpress then charge you for the transfer of it?
It all depends on what you (the blogger) make of it... you can make blogger good and WP shithouse, and vice versa. A good blog is a good blog and a shit one is a shit one. Wordpress is good if you don't host it at Wordpress. Otherwise it will lack a lot of features blogger provides (javascript). I felt very limited with the WP football blog. If you are planning to get your own domain WP is sure better than blogger. Then you can also implement not only the normal blogrolls and live twitter feed etc, but also commentluv for instance, because you have control over the code. If you don't host it yourself the customisability will be a lot more restricted than at blogger.
What?
Oh no... I've heard enough about Brett Lee's bum from my brother. Or was that Mitchell Johnson? Can't you find a more ritzy picture somewhere?
@mspr1nt - I know how to do all that moving stuff, I did it already with my other blog as a test run. It looks much nicer over there.
I think I might make the move bit by bit, perhaps change the name here first and then move a few weeks later or move but keep this name for a few weeks ... not sure yet.
As for the picture, it's not set in stone. Jen has a handful of them, I just thought the Brett Lee bum picture (it's him bending over at the scotland tour match in 2009) was a bit funny.
The new name is "The Width of Gatting" by the way and is a reference to the ball of the century.
While I'm not fussed about which blogsite you use, I like the name thoughts from the dustbin :(
If you get rid of it I may steal it in conversation at somepoint (I'm not sure how, but by jove I will!)
Wasm Akram's ball in the '92 world cup final was better Sid.
Doesn't your mate have a picture of Gatting's arse? It'd go more with the title.
Well, whether it was better or not Stani (and I'm sure it wasn't :-P), last I checked Akram isn't an Aussie so he doesn't really fit.
Maybe I won't change the name then ... oooh decisions, decisions.
Noo, I'm not saying you should use Akram...just that Warne's wasn't ball of the century so you shouldn't call it that :P
But I agree with Craig, I do like "Thoughts from the Dustbin". I mean, if you wanna change for the sake of changing then why not go a bit more posh: "Thoughts from the Wastebasket"
Ahh, no need to thank me, really. I shan't charge you for that one.
Whatever you do, keep it 'Thoughts from the Dustbin', we're too familiar to that now.
But I didn't call it that, Stani, history did. And actually, I think his ball to Richardson in an earlier test was also better.
OK, I will stick with Dustbin. I am pretty sold on a move to wordpress though. Just have to choose a layout I like.
You agreed with History.
I still think you should do a vote for the name...maybe even ask people for name suggestions. It's more democratic...then no one can complain afterwards.
I don't necessarily agree, but people always know what you're talking about when you say "ball of the century".
I think I will do a vote for the name, but I suspect Dustbin will win.
I like the Dustbin, too. I've got enough change happening, thanks, without you adding to it. I have no opinion on WP, but I'll be interested to see / hear how it goes.
Really, I thought you were talking about Akram :P
Errm, can you not say I'm gonna do a vote and then influence people's judgement straight away with 'I suspect Dustbin will win'.
If it makes any difference, Stani, I don't like "Dustbin". It makes no sense for a cricket blog.
