Campaign to forfeit the Ashes

Today was shit, right?

My Lord got beaten about so much that Indian supporters were feeling sorry for me on Twitter.

Sachin is on amazing form and our bowlers just seem to cow at his feet.

So, here's the plan - why don't we save the shame and embarrassment of this summer and just not play in the Ashes series? Let's just let England keep it, it would be so much quicker and will cause Australians so much less pain. It makes perfect sense.

Who's in?

Nah, you don't get off that lightly - We've got a 5-0 whitewash to avenge!

What the hell has Derby done to you woman?!

...unless it's one of those typical Aussie mind games you're playing?

But Sid, then we'll be left with that shit garage band, Mickey Arthur and the Warriors, and their regular suicidal forays into the domestic comps in Aus.

At least the Aussies will sometimes get close to winning and may even win a test or two.

The Warriors are just there to improve the averages of the opposition.

Courage, woman! Support thy team, for when all is lost, your support gaineth the dimension moral, and may be stored for recompense when the scales of fate once more incline their talents towards the doughty warriors of the Great Southern Land (all to the tune of Brahms' German Requiem).

Nah, I'm with you. Ashes off for a year.

No, I'm back. It was a moment of madness but there will be no giving in on the Ashes - we will get it back!

Probably.

I just hope My Lord remembers how to bowl again ...

Nutter.

Prediction: Nathan will not make the Ashes starting 11.

Sidthegnomenator said...

He will make the starting 11, because Warne has criticised Ponting over his use of Hauritz; Ponting can't allow such accusations to be true.

Besides, who is the alternative? North? He'll be lucky to be in the side himself.

Smith? Kill me now.

The K-word? I'd rather forfeit.

No, we have to play the Ashes win or lose. Especially lose. How else are they ever going to be persuaded to drop Marcus North? And maybe if we lose this time, Punter would stop talking about never retiring. Just a thought.

K-word, you mean Krejza? What about the other K...the O'K? A certain Mr O'Keefe?

Bet me Siddy :) Whatever happens, he will not be laying by the end of the series.

Stani Army said...

*...I meant playing...I swear.

Sidthegnomenator said...

Krejza is the one. Hold on - you said he won't start the series ... now you say he will start it but won't finish it. Which is it, big cheater?

Stani Army said...

Ok, both! Heeheeahahaha :)

Look at you getting all defensive over lover boy. How sweet, Katie Melua is the same over me you know.

I reckon they'll go with Smith or Keefe. Don't worry though, I also predict that Swann will get injured. That's fair init? You still hate me?

They will not go with anyone but Hauritz as the main spinner, but he may not play every match. He should be there by the end, though - they won't go to Sydney without an experienced spinner and it's Hauritz's home ground. It's Smith's as well, but he's too inexperienced. If they have already won the Ashes by Sydney, they might use Smith but I doubt it.

One part of me hopes Swann gets injured, the other hopes he doesn't - if he does, the English will say we only won because Swann wasn't playing. I'd rather beat England with him in the side.

He's such a prat.
