Or so I was told on twitter this morning. Also, it seems this person won't read my blog because it's funny.
I'm gutted.
So, it was a tough start, was it not? Or maybe careful is a better word. The Zimbabwe bowling and fielding was pretty good and it took Twatto and Haddo a while to get moving. I was actually relieved when Haddo got out because I thought Ponting would get that miserable over rate climbing.
He did ok. Actually, they all did ok. But, you know, only ok.
Except Pup. Of course, since I've taken the piss out of him a post ago, Pup did good. I'm not complaining.
Frustrating as it was, it was not to worry. I was more concerned about the general arseholic-ness (yes, that is a word) of people on the internet talking as though Australia were going to lose after just 8 overs. Someone sent me a message mid-way through our batting that said "I think Australia are going to let this slip away". Huh? Based on what? A handful of slow overs? Fuck off.
We managed a fairly convincing 262 in the end. It should have been higher, but thanks to the bowling it was enough. Tait and Lee started it and Mitchy cleaned them right up.
Please, I beg you - don't make me say good things about the K-man just yet.

LOL @ last sentence. No worries, he hasn't taken a fiver yet haha.
Well Oz did everything right, kept the wickets in hand and surfed home easily. Good for Clarke especially. Middle order still a concern, though (White/Duss/Smith).
forgot subscription, so, may as well laud Mitch's bowling, and Lee's high entertainment factor.
Considering how slow the start was, and man it was slow, 262 was a good recovery.
I liked the coming out blazing attitude of the incomers late in the innings. Showed some good stuff there.
One other thing, Mitch was scarily accurate. Scarily.
THEY WON?
MITCHY GOT WICKETS?
WHY DO I NOT BELIEVE YOU?
:P
Watson is looking good as usual, Ponting looks in ominous touch and the speedsters haven't broke down yet...So far so good...
If only White joins the party, some team down the road is gonna suffer at his hands!
Totally taken aback by Mitchell Johnson's accuracy. Have decided that it couldn't really be Mitchell Johnson bowling accurately like that. It's clearly someone else, posing as Mitchell Johnson. I offer the new, super-short haircut as evidence: the real Mitchell Johnson would never cut his hair like that; it makes him look all grown-up and everything - almost attractive even.
Well, you can't please all the people all the time. Especially if they're tossers.
Hard, Laura, I know. It is true, though, Mitchy was good. And I love all the more for saving me from K-man praise-age.
It was a good match, although I was getting a bit frustrated in that first few overs. I was strangely confident for me, actually.
Pavillion, this guy has a problem with us joking and criticising the Australian team. I don't know why - if we can't criticise them, who can? Supporting the team doesn't mean blindly following. Wes, above, got some from him for pointing out that Ponting got run out again - a fair comment, I say.
Anyway, thanks everyone for helping prove him wrong.
And let's hope Mitch keeps it up and White shows up. And K-man doesn't get a 5-for.
Can't help it. Rated your defence of the boys quite highly on this one Kirby!
It's always amusing the way we go about at a slow over rate and it's doom and gloom.
I'd put my money on it (as I wrote at the Baggy Green) it was a definite tactic.
Awesome stuff. Glad I avoid Twitter during the games.
There wasn't too much doom and gloom, it was more foreign fans enjoying it because they thought Aust were going to lose and trying to tell me we were going to lose. I wasn't wearing it, don't worry.
