He appeared in 2001
for the one test we lost;
Our Godlike Waugh was injured
and to the newby the bat was tossed.
He was never one of the favourites
except with an Aussie few;
so when the Ashes were lost in ’05
the selectors knew what to do.
“Let’s lose the less fashionable” they said,
“let’s make him the scapegoat”,
but his state side never lost faith
and he kept Derbyshire afloat.
And then he was back
and became a team staple;
the poor sod was stuck with Twatto
yet he helped him become able (kind of).
But now the young man’s time is done
and for him we must now mourn;
he pissed off the Dog who is now the boss
and from his contract he has been torn.
The selectors have done a stand up job,
as we know they always do;
two thousand, nine hundred and twenty eight runs
have just been flushed down the loo.

No contract doesn't necessarily mean an axing though, right? Is he just not getting paid, or does it work differently with the CA?
I'm so pissed off about the unfairness of this and the fact that the complete moron Hilditch gets to keep HIS f***ing job I don't know where to start.

Such a shame, eh? Can't understand the selectors and the board anymore...
Stupid. Why isn't that Hilditch not mugged by someone ?
He can still be called up, I believe, but it's pretty unlikely. According to CA it was a necessity if we are to look to the future - well, they are way out of touch if they think we want a future with Hilditch in it.
The least they could have done was to talk to him and mutually set a date when he could retire gracefully
You know, Tracer, I think that's what annoys me the most - he was probably going to retire in the next year or two anyway and go with his head held high. Now it's like he's been sacked. Wrong wrong wrong. Mike Hussey must be feeling so lucky right now.
Middle order crisis? What crisis? We've got to sort out that opening team, can't have that sort of thing showing everyone else up.
I'm still steamed about it. Punter is not even lucky, they are just too scared of him to dump him. He's now talking in cricinfo about how he's sure he'll still be at 3.
I'm going to be hard put to not barrack for whoever we play next instead of the Aussies.

Oh Katman, don't hold back, tell us how you really feel.

What a legend, eh? I was moved - really moved.
